It rained all weekend here!! Thanks a lot, Dennis.
We had promised Dylan that we would take him to the park on Saturday. So hoping for the best, we head to the park. We had only been there for about 5 minutes before it started raining again. So, we had to carry a screaming 2 year-old away from the park in the pouring rain.
So, Sunday morning, we wake up and decide to take him back. Can I just tell you that 9:30 on a Sunday morning is a great time to take your kids to the park?!?! We had the entire place to ourselves. The slides were wet, but that didn't slow Dylan down one bit.
There is this one slide that he is usually a little afraid of. It's about 15-20 feet tall with 3 spirals on the way down. He had been climbing and playing and having a blast. So, he finally worked up the courage to go to the top of this big slide and wouldn't you know it - there was a big puddle right where he was supposed to sit down to slide. AND there was also a huge puddle at the bottom of the slide. So, what does the little man do?? He starts splashing in the water. He plays in it so long that he drys the spot off. When he is done, he is soaked. Then, he decides it's time to slide. So, down he goes. Right into the puddle at the bottom of the slide. So now, he's wet from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet and makes it his personal mission to dry off the bottom of the slide as well. He procedes to climb back to the top and Jason convinces him to slide down head first. Ten or fifteen slides later (and just as kids were starting to arrive to play), Dylan has successfully dried most of the slides in the park. What a thoughtful little guy.
